Here is my Raw Nutrition Story...

My entire life I’ve been interested in food and nutrition.  In my late teens to late twenty’s, I was a vegetarian…although not a great one. 

I didn’t really have the understanding of what is good nutrition like I have today.   I started to slip in physical activity in my early 40s and decided to make a change.  It was through my new found passion of getting myself back on track, that I was connected with Lars at the BodyMind Institute.  I loved what I heard…signed up….became a certified nutritionist. 

I continued to educate myself through books and research, and that’s when I came upon David Wolfe.  His books were interesting and fascinating and I couldn’t get enough.   And once this ball got going….it just hasn’t stopped rolling.  From the Longevity Now Program, to The Best Day Ever website….from trying out vegan and raw dishes, to zeolites and medicinal mushrooms.   I found myself continuously reading about and using super food &  super herbs, and implementing raw into my family’s lives.   My growth in this area has skyrocketed…not because I planned it that way… but because I have a true researcher’s spirit and my curiosity gets the best of me.  I need to know things. 

When The BodyMind Institute joined with David Wolfe to create the Ultimate Raw Certification course, I was given role as lead Facilitator.  I knew I was exactly where I was supposed to be.   I have a love for this ground…for sharing with people….and helping them along in their own journey.  And, I have had the amazing privilege to share this with my family.   Some days my family is 100% raw vegan.  Other days they’re not.  And, I’m O.K. with that.  I didn’t raise my girls on a raw diet, but to see how far they’ve come is truly amazing.  My older daughter is about 85-90% raw vegan and she loves it.  I’ve had to be more careful with my younger daughter as the tastes and textures are not to her liking.  But, I have found ways for her to incorporate superfoods into her diet.  What kid wouldn’t like an organic peanut butter, almond milk, raw cacao, hemp seed, camu camu, tocotrienol, lucuma, banana smoothie for breakfast!!  It’s the BEST ever!

Life is a continuum.   I continue to grow…continue to find ways to incorporate raw into my family’s life…and continue to find ways to make 100% raw work for me.  I know that what works for me is not necessarily going to work for others.  The best commonality between The BodyMind nutrition course and David Wolfe’s Raw course is the concept of adding in.  That’s all it will ever be for me and for the clients that I coach.  When you start to add in one thing at a time, the nutrient-void, over-processed foods will easily fall away to the highly nutritious, super foods with ease.  The body feels the magic!

When I signed up with The BodyMind Institute I had no idea where things would lead me.  My advice:  Take one step at a time…add one thing in at a time…and you will THRIVE!
